Share Finance App Referrals
You share your personal invite links to investing and banking apps, and each app pays you a fixed reward when someone signs up through your link and funds the account.
The numbers
Each one links to its source and the day it was checked.

What it is
Most brokerages and neobanks run a refer-a-friend program that pays an existing customer a fixed bonus — usually stock, sometimes cash — when a new person opens and funds an account through their link. The reward is set by the app, not negotiated, and nearly every program requires the new person to deposit real money before anything pays. A separate, better-paying route exists for people with real traffic: the same companies run affiliate programs through networks that pay cash per funded account instead of stock.
How it works
- Open and fund the accounts yourself firstEvery program requires the referrer to hold an active account in good standing. Stash requires a funded brokerage account it advises; Robinhood requires an active individual brokerage account; Acorns requires an open Acorns Invest account on a paid subscription.
- Pull your link from inside each appLinks are generated per account, usually under Profile or Invite Friends. Acorns' terms require you to use only the link Acorns generates — a hand-built URL or code does not track.
- Read each program's sharing rules before you postThese are not uniform. Acorns' referral terms bar posting links on websites or social media without written consent from both Acorns and the site owner, and bar texting or emailing anyone without their prior express written consent.
- Share where people already want the productThe payable event is a funded account, not a click. Public pays only after the friend makes a one-time deposit of $1,000 or more; Chime pays only after a $200+ qualifying direct deposit lands and a physical card is activated.
- Wait out the holding periodRewards are issued after a delay designed to filter out churners — 45 days of good standing plus a cleared membership payment at Qapital, 40 days after activation for Acorns Early.
- If you have real traffic, apply to the affiliate programs insteadAffiliate networks pay cash per funded account rather than capped stock rewards — for example a published $40 per account deposit for moomoo. These require application and approval and are not open to everyone.
What you need
- A funded account in good standing on each app you want to refer (you cannot refer a product you don't hold)
- A paid subscription where the app charges one — Acorns has no free tier
- An audience of people plausibly about to open a brokerage or bank account, not just a follower count
- US residency for most of these programs, and friends who are new customers at a different address from yours
- Willingness to disclose that you are paid, which US rules on paid endorsements require
- Patience for a 30–60 day gap between the signup and the payout
The catch
You are not paid for sharing a link, you are paid when a third party moves their own money — and the thresholds are set high enough that most of your audience will never cross them: $1,000 deposited for Public, a $200 employer direct deposit plus card activation for Chime. The mass-posting version of this hustle also conflicts with the terms it depends on: Acorns' referral terms explicitly bar posting links on social media or websites without written consent from both Acorns and the site owner, and bar unsolicited texts and emails. On top of that, the ceiling is fixed by the companies rather than by your effort — $1,000 a year at Stash, ten referrals a year at Chime — and much of what you earn arrives as stock in an account, not cash you can spend.
